Today was meant to be the final day of the lakes and it certainly aimed to challenge and end on a high (782m to be exact). We again like yesterday began a steep assent to the top of Kidsty Pike. We then began possibly the worst descent of a hill I have ever experienced. To say my legs were burning would be an accurate statement. We then endured a 4-5 miles walk around a huge reservoir and eventually (under the ever changing weather) we arrived in Shap. Never before have I been so relieved to be out of the lakes.
Fully agree Robert...lovely walk into Shap through some nice lowlands to finish off though.
